The Musky Cup is the premier Musky tournament in Northwestern Ontario. Created by experienced guide and avid Musky hunter Byron Walker, he saw the need for a local tournament for all levels of Musky hunters and the Nestor Falls Musky Cup was born. The inaugural event in 2012 attracted 15 teams and has grown each year.
Dave Bonke and Thatcher Haagberg won the Musky Cup for an unprecedented third time in 2024. They had the lead on Day 1 with a two fish total of 87.5 inches with Dan Herbeck and Dale Barker close behind with a two fish total of 87 inches.
On Day 2, Dave and Thatcher had a two fish total of 80.5 inches while Dale and Dave had a total 81 inches.
Both teams had a two day total of 168 inches.
A tie.
Per tournament rules, the team with most inches on Day 1 of the tournament is declared the winner.
Dave and Thatcher hoisted the Musky Cup again.
Great fishing by both teams!
